Q. What size quilt should I buy?

A. In selecting the proper size for your quilt, take into consideration the size of your bed AND how far you want the quilt to “drop” down on each side of your bed. If you have a king bed with a deep pillow-top mattress, and you want the quilt to have a generous drop on each side of the bed, then you will love our oversized kings. For a queen bed with a deep mattress, you can use an oversized queen quilt, or a king-sized version of a quilt that is not available in oversized. Of course, not everyone wants a long drop – if you have a coordinating dust ruffle, or a special wood frame bed that you want to show, our standard king and queen quilts may fit your bed perfectly.

Remember, when you are looking at the dimensions given for our king and queen quilts, the larger number refers to the WIDTH, so for example, if an oversized king is listed as 115” x 105” you know that 115” refers to the width.

Here is a list of standard bed sizes:

  • Twin: 39” wide x 75” long
  • Full (also called a Double): 54” wide x 75” long
  • Queen: 60” wide x 80” long
  • King: 78” wide x 80” long
  • California King: 72” wide x 84” long

To calculate how far any particular quilt will drop on each side of your bed, take the width of the quilt and subtract the width of your bed. The remaining number is the extra fabric that will drop over each side (remember to divide this number by 2, since half of the extra fabric will drop on each side). Q. How long will it take to get my items?

A. We ship UPS Ground daily. If we have your items in stock, we will ship them within two business days of the receipt of your order. On average, UPS Ground takes up to 5 business days for a shipment from California to the East Coast.

If we do not have your items in stock, please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery. If we see that it will take more than 3 weeks for you to receive your ordered items, we will contact you to give you an estimate as to when you can expect your order.

Q. Do you ship out of the continental U.S.?

A. Yes! We use United States Postal for all such shipments. Please contact us for a quote. As a guideline, a single-quilt shipment to Alaska or Hawaii will cost about $25 for priority mail service, while a similar shipment to Europe will cost from $35 - $45 for 6-8 week service.

Q. Do you offer expedited shipping service?

A. Yes! Please contact us for a quote. We use UPS for expedited shipments within the continental United States. We use US Postal for all other expedited shipments. As a guideline, a single-quilt shipment within the continental U.S. will add about $15 to the cost of shipping, while a similar shipment anywhere else will add from $20 – 40 to the cost of shipping.

Q. What is your return policy?

A. We will gladly refund the full purchase price, less shipping charges, of your items under the following conditions:

  • You send an email notification to steve@noddingplace.com
  • The merchandise is received in our store no later than 10 days after the day you receive your items
  • A copy of the sales receipt is included
  • The merchandise is unused and in original condition

Returns after 10 days and before 30 days can be exchanged for other merchandise or for in-store credit, as long as the other conditions listed above are met.
